ATLANTA (March 1, 2017) — Michael Druhan (Spring Hill) was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Baseball Player of the Week and Josh Dunn (Kentucky State) was selected as the Pitcher of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Druhan, a senior first baseman from Mobile, Ala. led the Badgers (8-8 overall) to three wins last week. He hit .667 in four games which included five home runs. Throughout the week Druhan recorded 10 hits, eight RBI and six runs. The Badgers host Mississippi College on Wednesday, March 1 at 1 p.m.
Dunn, a senior right-handed pitcher from Lexington, KY. was solid in a 4-2 win against the University of Charleston on Feb. 25. He extended his record to 2-1 as he pitched his second straight complete game for Kentucky State. He allowed just three hits over seven innings, as the Golden Eagles managed just two runs, one earned, against the Thorobreds' ace. The Thorobreds (4-12) travel to face Murray State University on Wednesday, March 1 at 2 p.m.
