Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

ATLANTA-Four Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) baseball players were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's 2013 NCBWA Division II All-South Region Team, as voted by the association.
 
Leading the way is Benedict College senior Lydell Moseby, who was named to the All-South Region First Team as a shortstop. Joining Moseby were his teammates David Webber, Jocquese Brunson,  and Tuskegee's Cash Oliver, who  were all named to the All-South Region Second Team.
 
Moseby was named SIAC First Team All-Conference at shortstop, as well as the SIAC Utility Player of the Year after playing catcher, shortstop, third base, first base and in the outfield. He hit .418 and ranked second in the nation with a .799 slugging percentage. He led the SIAC and was among the nation's leaders with 11 home runs. He also led the SIAC and ranked third nationally with 1.34 runs batted in per game.

A first team All-SIAC selection, Weber, earned Second Team honors at first base. The senior hit .394.and led NCAA Division II with a .625 on-base percentage, while also leading the nation in base on balls per game. He ranked 17^th in Division II with a .674 slugging percentage.

Brunson was named to the Second Team as an outfielder. He hit .367 and was second on Benedict's team with six home runs. He ranked second in the NCAA with 49 stolen bases and also led the nation with eight sacrifice flies.


The SIAC Player Of The Year, Oliver batted .351 with 47 hits, 32 RBIs, five doubles, four home runs, and three triples and a .522 slugging percentage as the leader of the SIAC runner-up Tuskegee Golden Tigers. Oliver, a junior, also had a .920 fielding percentage and was named to the 2013 SIAC All-Tournament Team.
