Atlanta, GA—The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announces its top performers for week four of the 2011 football season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Stanley Jennings—Albany State (QB, 6-2, 250, Marietta, GA, SR)-- Jennings completed 18 of 29 passes for 271 yards and threw three TD passes in ASU's 34-27 win over Miles. He led the Rams to 417 total offensive yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Courtney Daniels—Fort Valley State (LB, 6-0, 227, Eatonton, GA, SR)-- Daniel finished with a game-high nine tackles, including eight solo, three tackles for loss, and two sacks.
Newcomer of the Week
Travis Richmond—Fort Valley State (RB, 5-6, 165, Fort Valley, GA, FR)-- Richmond had 15 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-23 win over Benedict.
Offensive Lineman of the Week
Marlon Jones—Morehouse (OL, 5-11, 270, Powder Springs, GA, JR)-- Jones anchored an offensive line that helped Morehouse gain 399 yards, score on 5-of-5 trips to the Red Zone and convert 2-of-4 fourth-down chances.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Brandon Hamilton—Albany State (K, 5-9, 150, Rome, GA, SO) — Hamilton kicked 38- and 34-yard field goals in ASU's 34-27 win over Miles.
Honorable Mention Performances
Anderson Davis- RB- Clark Atlanta- JR- recorded 93 all-purpose yards including a 12-yard rushing touchdown. Averaged 2.5 yards rushing against UAPB, and he had one 54-yard reception
Mujihad Assad- WR- Benedict- JR- Assad finished with five catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-23 loss to Fort Valley State.
David Carter- RB- Morehouse- JR- Carter rushed for 177 yards on 29 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per carry in a come-from-behind win over Lane.
Jerrel Noland- QB- Kentucky State- SR- Noland completed 21-33 passes for 213 yards and 1 TD in the Breds 23-7 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. The Thorobreds finished with 392 total offensive yards, including two touchdowns and 20 first downs. Noland's 21 completions is the second highest in his career
Brandon Allen- QB- Stillman- SO- Allen came off the bench to go 5-for-5 for 44 yards while rushing four times for 26 yards and the go-ahead touchdown in Stillman's 13-9 win at Tuskegee
Harcourt Farquharson- DB- Clark Atlanta- SR- Farquharson recorded a game-high 11 tackles and forced one fumble. He led a CAU defensive that held UAPB to nine points.
Jamarkus Gaskins- DB- Albany State- SR- Gaskins led the ASU "Dirty Blue" defense with 11 tackles (four solo), with 2.5 for a loss, and a sack.
Corey Jones- LB- Lane- JR- Jones led the defensive unit with 15 total tackles, including 7 solo, and 1.5 tackles for loss for 6 yard loss.
Elijah Anderson- DE- Morehouse- JR- Anderson recorded 8 tackles, with two sacks and three tackles for loss.
Jacquan Persley- DB- Kentucky State- SO- In the win over Kentucky Wesleyan, Persley had four tackles (3 solo), including one for loss of five yards. He also had a recovered a fumble and returned it 65 yards for the touchdown
Jarell Thomas- LB- Stillman- SR- Thomas had nine total tackles (two solo) with a .5 tackle for loss.
Corey Robinson- LB- Miles- SR- Robinson had 12 tackles (5 solo, 7 assist) and 2 Fumble recoveries.
Brandon Wilkerson- DB - Clark Atlanta- JR- CAU’s third leading tackler against UAPB with seven total tackles including one for a loss and six solo tackles. Wilkerson helped a Panther defense that held UAPB to nine points and zero fourth down conversions on two attempts.
Ronnie Tubbs- WR- Albany State- JR- Tubbs had three catches for 73 yards, including a 35-yard TD reception.
Devon Perry- WR- Lane- JR - Perry had 97 all-purpose yards including 5 catches 13 yards, 54 yards on kick-off returns, and 30 yards on punt returns.
Jacquise Lockett- RB- Kentucky State- FR- Lockett rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown with a long of 49 yards on eight carries on Saturday, averaging 9.9 yards per carry.
Brandon Hoffman- P/K- Morehouse- JR- Hoffman kicked 2 field goals of 27 and 28 yards. He also punted 5 times for a 36.8 yd average. His 4 kickoffs averaged 57 yards.
Dondre Purnell- QB- Stillman- FR- Purnell went 9-for-17 passing for 111 yards; also had eight carries for 24 yards in a 13-9 win over Tuskegee.
Chris Thomas- QB- Benedict- N/A- Thomas went 8-14 for 192 yards and two touchdowns off the bench in a 40-23 loss to FVSU.
Rick Hart- OL- Clark Atlanta- SO- Helped the CAU offense gain 223 total offensvie yards and had three pancake blocks.
Travis Walker- OL- Albany State- SO- Walker was a key anchor on the Golden Rams offensive line, which allowed 417 total offensive yards, including 146 rushing yards.
Zach LaGrange- OL- Kentucky State- SO - LaGrange paced the Thorobred offense that rushed for 179 yards and passed for 213 yards. The Breds possessed the ball for nearly 36 minutes as LaGrange led a line that allowed just one sack.

Jonathan Johnson- KR- Clark Atlanta- JR- Johnson recorded two kick-off returns for 48 yards including one 31-yard return.
Duncan Pope- P- Kentucky State- FR- Pope punted the ball twice for 107 yards. He had a long of 59 yards and one inside the 20, averaging 53.5 yards per punt
Ryan Bullock- K- Lane- FR- Bullock was 3 for 3 on extra points, had 8 punts for 277 yards including 2 inside the 20, 4 kick-offs for 227 for a 56.8 avg., 504 total kicking yards.
