SIAC Announces 2010 All-Conference/All-Academic Tennis Teams


The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coaches have selected the men’s and women’s all-conference tennis teams. Leading the way for the men’s team is conference most valuable player Tory Martin of Morehouse College. Martin, a junior, is joined on the first team by senior teammate Ben Seagle, Lemoyne-Owen sophomore Donavan Mullings as well as a trio from Stillman in sophomore Anes Hrjnic, freshman Jeshua Irazabal, and freshman Felipe Farias. Stillman’s Jeshua Irazabal was named freshman of the year.

 

The women’s team is led by conference most valuable player Keva Palmer of Clark Atlanta. Palmer, a sophomore, is joined on the first team by Albany State senior Carolina Ribeiro, Benedict sophomore Chloe Jean-Charles, Fort Valley State sophomore Roberta Robinson along with sophomore Sunny Willoughly and junior Shaneka Knight, both from Tuskegee. Benedict’s Jessica Carswell was named freshman of the year.

 

Men’s Coach of the Year is Stillman Head Coach Will E. Riley. Riley led a team that produced four first team all-conference selections and the freshman player of the year.

 

Women’s Coach of the Year is Tuskegee Head Coach Lenny Gray. Gray led a team that produced three first team all-conference selections.
