SOUTH REGION Athlete of the Year Jamaree Gordon, Kentucky State
Gordon had the fifth-fastest 60-meter time at 6.78 and the fifth-best 200-meter clocking at 21.51, which also ranked No. 1 in the South region. The junior broke four meet records this season, including his 200-meter meet-record breaking winning run at the Division II Team Challenge at Findlay. NCAA: 60m - 4th in 6.82, 200m - 4th in 21.53 (21.30q).

Smith's Thorobreds were the only South Region team to achieve a top-25 national ranking, with top athletes in the region in the 60 meters, the 200 meters, the long jump, and the shot put. NCAA: T14 with 10 pts.
