The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) was well represented on the 2009 Football Gazette All-Super Region Two team with 25 selections including seven first-team, eight second-team and ten third-team selections. 9 out of 10 SIAC football-playing member instutions were represented on the All-Region team. Fort Valley State and Morehouse led the way with four selections each followed by Tuskegee, Albany State, Clark Atlanta, and Kentucky State who all had three selections each. Stillman and Benedict both had two selections each followed by Miles who had one selection on this year’s team.
Kicker/Punter Ian Mullen of Morehouse was the lone special teams player from the SIAC to be a first-team selection, making the team as a placekicker. Mullen, who lead the SIAC in punting average and field goals made, was also a third-team selection as a punter. Six players made first-team defense including defensive back Justin Hannah (Tuskegee) and linebacker Zimier McCloud (Clark Atlanta), both of whom shared this year's SIAC Defensive Player of the Year honor. Linebacker Charlie Wilson (Morehouse), who led all SIAC linebackers in tackles for loss (18) and interceptions (4), was the only sophomore to make first-team defense. Defensive lineman Junior Galette (Stillman), defensive backs Mario Fuller (Albany State) and Justin Hill (Miles) make up the rest of the first-team selections from the conference.
The top two leading rushers in SIAC, Running backs Winston Thompson (Clark Atlanta) and Quinn Porter (Stillman), were second-team selections. Conference MVP A.J. McKenna of Albany State was third-team selection at quarterback. Thompson was the only player from the conference that was selected last year to make the team again this year after rushing for over 2,000 yards the last two seasons.
