In this week’s USA Today ESPN Division II Women’s Top 25 Coaches’ Poll (released on January 26th), the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) took a slight dip from last week’s 12th place ranking down to 14th. The modest dip was likely based on the upset the Lady Wildcats incurred on January 19th to the Thorobrettes of Kentucky State University.
The Lady Wildcats received a total of 291 points in this week’s poll. Currently, the Lady Wildcats are 17-1 and are in first place in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The weekly poll is derived from the votes of 30 NCAA Division II head coaches who make up the USA Today ESPN board of coaches. Each board member is required to vote for the NCAA Division II poll each week between 8 a.m. on Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday (EST).
