SIAC cancels 2008 Football Kick-Off Luncheon

The President's Council of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and conference office, have decided to cancel the 2008 SIAC Summer Meetings/Kick-Off Luncheon. The event will resume next summer at a date to be determined.

Stinson to attend NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males & Females

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Director of Communications & Marketing Assistant, Harry "Trae" Stinson, III, has been selected  as one of ten women and thirteen men nationwide, to attend the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males & Females.

Legendary SIAC Hoops Coach celebrates 90th Birthday

The LeMoyne-Owen College in conjunction with the LeMoyne-Owen College Alumni Association-Memphis Chapter will celebrate Legendary Coach Jerry Johnson, Sr.'s 90th birthday on Friday, June 20, 2008. The event will take place at 7:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Select located at 2240 Democrat Road in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Lide Terminated

The Council of Presidents, the governing body of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), announced today, the termination of Dr. William E. Lide as Conference Commissioner, which became effective May 31, 2008.

Circle City Classic cancels KYSU vs. CSU game

The Circle City Classic has canceled the first game of a proposed doubleheader on October 4 celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the event. The game would have featured Kentucky State and Central State and was scheduled to kickoff at 1:00pm in the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Kentucky State wins SIAC SAAC Citizenship Award

Kentucky State University provided stellar service to their community en route to winning the second annual Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) Citizenship Award. Student Athletes from around the SIAC, through their S.A.A.C. programs, competed all year to acquire points to win the award by completing community service projects and other initiatives on their campus and in their community.

Morehouse’s Prince wins 400m IH at NCAA Nationals

WALNUT, Calif. - Morehouse's Damian Prince was the lone National Champion as he took home his second consecutive national championship in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles to lead the SIAC at the NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships.  Albany State men's team had the best overall performance finishing in 8th after taking home three top five finishes.
