Jacary Atkinson – Tuskegee (Sr, QB, 6-3, 210, Valley, AL)
Rushed 16 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Completed 5 of 18 passes for 72 yards and another TD to lead Golden Tigers to 21st consecutive victory at Circle City Classic over Alabama A&M, 34-24. Named CCC MVP
Defensive Player of the Week
Clifton Sanders – Tuskegee (Sr, LB, 5-9, 196, Pleasant Grove, AL)
Recorded 16 tackles (8 solo) and had 1.5 tackles for loss in win over Alabama A&M.
Newcomer of the Week
A.J. McKeena – Albany State (Jr, QB, 6-5, 240, Scranton, PA)
Completed 10 of 15 passes for 117 yards and two TDs; rushed for 19 yards in Golden Rams win over Stillman.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Aaron Chambers – Kentucky State (Fr, K, 6-2, 172, Newton, PA)
Kicked game winning field goal with 3:49 remaining to give Thorobreds 31-29 win over Central State. Punted four times for 38.8 yard average with two inside the 20.
Co-Offensive Linemen of the Week
Pedro Bennett – Albany State (So, G, 6-3, 390, Montgomery, AL)
Anchored O-line that helped produce 451 yards in total offense (241 rushing, 210 passing) averaging 6.5 yards per play.
Alphonso Johnson – Clark Atlanta (Sr, C, 6-3, 305, Montgomery, AL)
Graded out at 98% with five pancake blocks for offensive effort that produced 448 yards of total offense (273 rushing, 175 passing) with no sacks that averaged 6.8 yards per play.
Notable Performances
Clark Atlanta RB Winston Thompson rushed for 145 yds and caught a pass for another 15 in loss to Savannah State.
CAU QB Cedric Johnson produced 274 yds of total offense (175 passing, 99 rushing) and a touchdown.
Kentucky State RB Michael Wright rushed 21 times for 117 yds in win over Central State
Fort Valley State RB Skyler Thornton rushed for 113 yards and two TDs in win over Lane.
Lane QB Sherard Ellis threw for 150 yards and one TD; rushed for 70 yards and three more TDs in loss to FVSU.
Kentucky State WR Juwan Jones caught 7 passes for 114 yds and two TDs; rushed once for 9 yards.
Albany State QB Kisan Flakes produced 153 yards of total offense (93 passing, 60 rushing)
Fort Valley LB Trenton Newton recorded nine tackles (3 solo) and a pass interception.
CAU LB Zimier McCloud recorded 9 tackles (all assisted) and one tackle for loss.
KSU DE Davis Wiliams recorded 8 tackles (6 solo) two tackles for loss and three QB
Lane WR/KR Jackie Chambers averaged 21.3 yards on six kickoff returns and caught 5 passes for 41yds.
